Who we are

Posh Rock Tennis Foundation (PRTF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, youth development organization dedicated to changing the trajectory of young lives through comprehensive programming and educational opportunities.

Founded in 2017 by Albert Richards, John Richards, and Francisco Gonzales, the same passionate individuals who drive Posh Rock Tennis, the Foundation was born from a deep understanding of the sport's ability to foster growth, discipline, and healthy living. Having experienced the profound impact of tennis in their own lives, the founders recognized a critical need to extend these opportunities to underserved youth in Central Florida and beyond.

Our Mission

The Posh Rock Tennis Foundation's mission is to change the trajectory of our Central Florida youth, through comprehensive recreational programming that promotes the physical, educational, and life skills necessary to prepare and empower our underserved youth for success.

3 Buckets of Focus

As a registered member of the USTA Foundation (United States Tennis Association) and a recognized USTA/National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) program, PRTF is part of a nationwide network committed to developing the character of young people through tennis and education.

Bucket 1: Underserved Youth Tennis & College Pathway

  • On & Off Court Development: Our unique approach combines on-court instruction with vital educational and life-skill components. This includes mentorship, health and nutrition guidance, academic support, and college preparation, enhancing each player's overall development.

Community Partnerships: Through strong collaborations with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club of America, Special Olympics, local elementary schools, and Fort Gatlin Tennis Center, we enhance the lives of thousands of children weekly.

Bucket 2: Intellectual Disabilities & Adaptive Tennis

Our second program bucket serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This includes running all Special Olympics Florida – Orange County tennis programs, our Casselberry tennis programs at Red Bug Lake Park, and on-court work with ABA centers, the Academy of Autism, and ESE programs within Orange County Public Schools.

Through structured, supportive tennis instruction, we focus on building confidence, social skills, coordination, and independence. The program is designed so that athletes of all abilities can participate, grow, and, when ready, progress into Special Olympics competition and other community-based tennis opportunities.

Bucket 3: Physical Disabilities, Wheelchair & Recovery Tennis

Our third bucket focuses on individuals with physical disabilities, with a special emphasis on wheelchair tennis and stroke recovery tennis. In partnership with Orlando Health, we create safe, adaptive tennis environments for those who are rebuilding mobility, balance, and strength after life-changing medical events.

These programs use tennis as a powerful tool for rehabilitation, mental health, and social connection. Whether someone is a wheelchair user, a stroke survivor, or managing another physical limitation, we provide an inclusive pathway back to movement, community, and the joy of play.

Our Impact

Since its inception, the Posh Rock Tennis Foundation has been dedicated to:

  • Increasing participation in tennis among underserved, autistic, and special needs youth.

  • Helping to develop strong character, resilience, and sportsmanship.

  • Providing crucial educational enrichment opportunities.

  • Empowering youth to make healthy living choices and improve essential life skills.

We believe that providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment through tennis can unlock potential, build self-esteem, and create pathways for a brighter future. Every swing, every lesson, and every interaction contributes to building empowered, well-rounded individuals ready to succeed on and off the court.
