Blind and Visually Impaired Tennis Program

Posh Rock Tennis Foundation
Central Florida

Help bring blind and low vision tennis to Central Florida, with audible balls, tactile courts, and coaching at every player's pace.

Help Bring Blind and Low Vision Tennis to Central Florida

For someone who is blind or has low vision, finding an accessible place to learn a sport can be a challenge. The Posh Rock Tennis Foundation is seeking donations to create a welcoming tennis program where athletes with vision loss can learn, practice, and enjoy the game.

Our Blind and Low Vision Tennis Program will expand access to adaptive sports in Central Florida, giving participants opportunities to develop tennis skills, build confidence, stay active, and form lasting friendships. Whether someone is picking up a racquet for the first time or returning to a sport they love, our goal is to provide the equipment, instruction, and support they need to participate.

Making Tennis Accessible

Blind and low vision tennis uses adaptations that allow players to follow the ball through sound and navigate the court through touch. Audible balls, tactile court markings, adapted playing areas, and rules that accommodate different levels of vision help make the game accessible.

PRTF will bring these adaptations together with supportive coaching and opportunities to learn at each participant's pace. The program will emphasize skill development, independence, sportsmanship, and the enjoyment of playing alongside others.

What Your Donation Will Support

Your contribution will help provide:

  • Audible tennis balls, racquets, and adaptive training equipment
  • Tactile court markings and accessible court setups
  • Coaching and training for staff and volunteers
  • Introductory clinics and ongoing instructional sessions
  • Outreach to individuals, families, schools, and organizations serving people with vision loss
  • Reduced cost or no cost participation for athletes who need financial assistance

We also welcome equipment donations, program sponsors, volunteers, and introductions to community partners who can help us reach prospective players.

An Opportunity to Play and Belong

Our purpose goes beyond teaching tennis. We want participants to have a place where they can challenge themselves, celebrate progress, make friends, and be recognized for their abilities.

This program will build on PRTF's work in youth, wheelchair, and adaptive tennis, extending opportunities to people who face additional barriers to organized recreation. Support from donors will help us create a program that can grow with its athletes, from their first lesson to continued recreational or competitive play.

Help Us Get Started

We are seeking founding donors and community partners to help bring this program to life. A gift of any size will support the equipment, instruction, and access needed to welcome blind and low vision athletes onto the court.

Your gift opens the court to blind and visually impaired athletes. Posh Rock's adaptive tennis program offers safe, guided play, sound-based drills, and confidence-building coaching for players of all ages and abilities.

Every donation helps provide modified balls, tactile court markers, trained coaches, and transportation support so athletes can move, compete, and connect as part of our Central Florida tennis community.
